041 - Mr. Mayor enters the chat

There he is boys, our fearless leader, lil ol mr. mayor. I kept trying to do a caricature of george bush but I think it looks funnier to leave the realistic shot on the wall

Here’s something cool!!

I’ve been watching adventure time over again, and I asked myself: Where do these immaculate vibes come from? Why does this world feel so detailed and complicated but still so comprehensible? And I believe the answer is…

The backgrounds.

Making this show was a team effort, but I want to focus on the artist Ghostshrimp.

This guy’s style is so FUNKY, and it makes me wish I was a little older in the early 2000’s so I could better appreciate this emerging design in animation.

It’s all these details and set pieces that made me feel like this could be a real place when I was watching this for the first time as a kid.

I know American cartoons get crapped on a lot for lazy art styles and cheap animation, but you can’t look at this and tell me adventure time’s design was unintentional.
