I grew up really only playing two games: Mario Kart and Smash bros. I got good at Mario Kart and Smash bros.
It was fun to main light guys like mario who could get a high combo count, but I loved playing heavies most of all. Nothing was more satisfying than landing a King Dedede forward smash on someone’s head.
That fighting style and pacing translated over to this comic, where there’s not really a lot of little exchanges with minor hits, just insane womps that jump you up 50%. I never actually thought about why until now, so that might be something that changes later.
